Robert headed into work early this morning while all of the girls took their time getting up and going. I had checked the library's summer schedule and they didn't open until noon on Mondays, so we had a little bit of time to relax before heading out. My mom came over to see the curtains and we sat and talked in the living room for a little bit. I was telling her about my furniture search for the week and she is excited to tag along once we start visiting places.
We had a small lunch before heading to the library. The girls went right in and started pulling books off the shelves. Melinda wandered through the rows of books, longingly looking at several only to put them back, frustrated and disappointed. We happened to run into one of the teachers from our school and she mentioned a few options for her to try. Melinda ended up finding two different books that she wanted to try at home. Abigail came home with seven books, Ally came home with two, and I found two as well. My girls love visiting the library and reading as many books as they can. I enjoy the opportunity to physically hold a book and read through the pages that I have to turn with my hands. I normally read on the Kindle app on my iPhone, but it's just not the same.

This is the local library. It is part of our high school, so the students and the public are able to use the facility. |
After the library, we headed to the thrift store to see if they had any furniture pieces that would work in our room. I didn't find anything that I just couldn't live without, so we headed home. The girls all retreated to their rooms to read their books and I sat at the computer to look through our local treasure exchange on Facebook to see if anyone was selling furniture that we could use. I found one piece and sent the picture to Robert to see what he thought. We worked out the details and I agreed on the price. I was so excited to begin this project.

The t.v. cabinet that I bought and will be re-painting. |
Robert and I went to workout while the girls stayed at home to have dinner. We were both extremely exhausted, so we picked up Chick-fil-A on the way home. Once we were finished, Robert and Melinda headed to the grocery store to get a few things for the week. As soon as they got back, they unpacked the groceries and Robert and I headed out to pick up the t.v. cabinet I had bought. We measured the inside of the van and arranged the seats so that it would fit. Once we got to their house and began to load it into the van, it was painfully obvious that someone measured incorrectly, because there was no way that thing was going to fit into the van. So, what's a girl to do but call her daddy. It was 9:30 p.m. and he headed over with the pick-up truck to help us out. We got it loaded and we were finally on our way back home. Once we had it in the garage, we went inside and I began looking through Pinterest and YouTube for paint colors and how to videos on the distressed look I was after. I can't wait until tomorrow when I can get started on this project!
