Today started off with a little more excitement. Melinda has been having some tooth pain, so we were able to get her in to see a dentist in Forney. We were up early to get ready for the appointment. Robert also had an appointment to see a doctor for his allergies that have been causing him a great deal of issues. The girls headed to the dentist while Robert went to his doctors office.
Once the appointment was over, we headed to the grocery store to get a few things for the week. Melinda has fallen in love with a classic American food...Peanut Butter and Jelly!!! She bought a jar that has both and is in heaven! I can't blame her, as this has been a staple in my diet since childhood. Next, I need to introduce her to the other classic American food....Grilled Cheese! My dad calls them 'Greasy Cheesy' sandwiches. Ahhhh.....childhood memories.

When we got home, we had a quick lunch before Robert and I headed to workout with the trainer. While we were gone, the girls stayed home to play the Wii. When we got home, Ally and Abby wanted to play on the new slip and slide that Robert got them at the store. He set it up in the front yard and off they went. The weather today was absolutely amazing!!! The first day in July in Texas and the high was only 89 degrees Fahrenheit!!!!! That is unheard of this time of year!!!

After dinner, I sat down to catch up on my blog postings. I hadn't had a chance to write in a few days, so I had a lot of catching up to do. Robert and Melinda were at the table talking while I was writing. The topic for tonight is colleges and universities. Melinda is really enjoying her time in the United States and has been thinking about the possibility of coming back for college. We told her about the various exams that you have to take as part of the admissions process as well as the numerous colleges and universities to choose from. Of course, we 'lightly' encouraged her to look into Texas A&M, but only if she wants to. ;0) Melinda said that her mom asked if she is home sick and Melinda said no. Well...from a moms point of view, I'd probably be a little sad, but I am glad that she's happy here and not feeling home sick.
Melinda was telling us that most of her family, grandparents included, use various forms of technology. Abigail named her snail 'Johnny ManSNAIL' after the great Texas A&M University Heisman winning quarterback, Johnny Manziel. We showed Melinda YouTube videos of his winning season. Then we showed her the wildly popular Harvard baseball team and their cover of Call Me Maybe. Gotta love YouTube!
