Just getting started...

Well, this is my first step into the world of blogging, so please bear with me as I figure it all out.

I decided to start this blog in order to document all of the amazing experiences that my family will have over the next three months.  We have been given the opportunity to have a young lady in our home for the summer.  Her name is Melinda Joni (pronounced Yo-knee) and she is from Szekesfehervar, Hungary, which is a small town just southwest of Budapest.  She is 16 and is here in the United States to improve her English.  Melinda has been here just three days and she has already made such an amazing impression on us.  She is very sweet and always eager to help out around the house and tag along during our busy days in order to learn as much as she can about our daily lifestyle.

As the summer continues, look for daily (hopefully!) updates on what we have done thus far.  Melinda is also writing a blog about her experiences from her point of view, so I thought this would offer her another version of the summers activites to read through once she is back at home with her familiy.
