Today was not a very eventful day. I had an appointment this morning, so the girls stayed home to get ready for the day, practice piano, and clean up their room. Melinda stayed to make sure they didn't forget anything.
On the way back into Forney, I stopped by my friends house to drop off our garage sale stuff before heading back home to pick up the girls. When we got back to my friends house, we started getting things ready for the garage sale. We have lots of clothes, shoes, toys, furniture, and other miscellaneous things. Melinda and Ally helped us set things out while Abigail was entertained inside with my friends daughter. We spent a few hours getting everything ready and, even though I was so excited to get a bunch of things out of my house, I ended up coming home with a box of garage sale items that I just had to have. We visited with my friend and her daughter for a little while. It was nice to let Melinda talk to them and answer their questions. I think she is getting used to hearing us speak to her and assist her, so it is good for her to hear other people talk and have to answer their questions. I think we will try and get together with them again so that Melinda and my friends daughter can hang out again. The are very close in age, so hopefully once they conquer the language barrier, they will find they have lots in common.
Robert returned from his four day business trip, so we headed out to have dinner as a family of five again. After dinner, we made a quick trip to Wal-Mart (yes, we frequent this store A LOT!) before heading over to my moms house to visit with my grandfather. He is in town visiting my dad and his brother. He is from a small town in south Texas called Raymondville. Both of my parents are from this town and I still have lots of family living in and around that area. The southern portion of Texas is often referred to as the Rio Grande Valley. I was showing Melinda where this on the map of Texas and explained that it is an eight to nine hour drive in the car from our house in Forney.
Melinda is getting better and better at speaking English. She is talking to Robert about the difficulty she is having right now with writing her blog. She is writing in Hungarian, but is thinking about what to say in English. I can't even imagine how difficult that all must be!!! She has come so far with her dialogue just in the past few days, I know she'll go back home being able to speak English with her aunt and uncle just as easily as she can speak Hungarian.
Tomorrow we have a garage sale, workout, and a birthday party....many more pictures tomorrow, I promise!
