Today, we began the way we typically end our days....sitting and talking around the table. Melinda and I sat in the kitchen for about an hour while I learned how to greet someone. I am now able to say "Hello", "How are you?", "Very well, thank you.", and "Not very well." Hopefully, her seeing me attempt to learn her language, she will continue to strive to learn ours. I feel that she enjoys seeing me try to learn Hungarian. She is a very patient and supportive teacher. The Beginner's Hungarian Dictionary she brought me from home is really helping me pick up the language!
We got in a mid-morning workout with the trainer, came home to eat lunch, then heading to the pool with some friends. We stayed at the pool for several hours before coming home to get cleaned up before dinner. We decided to take Melinda out for her first steak dinner while in Texas. We decided on SaltGrass since we were a little short on time. Abigail was the perfect entertainer while we waited for our food and Melinda learned a few American knock-knock jokes and riddles. She was a little nervous to try a steak, so she decided on chicken fried steak instead. Naturally, the steak was half to 2/3 of the plate and there was barely enough room for her french fries. She absolutely loved it!!! She wants to sample as much American food as possible while she's here, so you'll be seeing us out a lot.
After dinner, Melinda's first comments were, "I'm so full. I can not more." Robert and I about fell over!!!!
When we got home and got the girls into bed, we decided to sit and watch a movie. A quick search through Netflix ended on Ferris Bueller's Day Off. We explained that this is also considered an American classic. We made it about half way through before calling it a night, but so absolutely loved the part we did see. Can't wait for her to get to finish it!!!
